Coburg North is a suburb in central Melbourne, Victoria, within the City of Moreland Local Government Area. A reasonably sized suburb with a population of well over 7,000, North Coburg is found (appropriately) north of the municipality of Coburg. A post office known as Coburg North opened on the site in 1857, kickstarting growth in the region. Primarily residential with small industrial areas, the municipality is home to a number of creeks, lakes and parks, and is also home to 2 commercial strips (Sydney Road and Merlynston).

Located just 11 kilometres from Melbourne’s Central Business District, Coburg North is well-serviced and has excellent amenities, including a number of schools, inlcuding primary (Coburg North Primary School) and high schools (such as Mercy College). The suburb is serviced by two train stations, Merlynston and Batman, as well as a tram route which runs via it. These amenities, coupled with the municipality’s location and the beautiful green spaces that occupy much of the suburb, make it an ideal place for those who perhaps have jobs in the city but do not wish to live in its hustle and bustle.
